The story of a plane crash in which every single person dies except one child is completely out of my comfort zone.
But then I picked up the book on my recent trip to Buxton Books and read J. Courtney Sullivan’s blurb on the cover.

The “Read with Jenna” seal of approval on the cover didn’t hurt either – I’ve enjoyed several of her recommendations, so I cheerfully forked over $27 to see for myself.
I’m happy to report that despite the horrific plane crash theme, the story is inspiring and hopeful in a way I didn’t think was possible.
Hard to believe – I know.
Twelve-year-old Edward’s struggle to find a new version of normal after moving in with John and Lacey, his aunt and uncle who have been unable to have children of their own, will capture your heart. Napolitano does a fabulous job of creating wonderful-but-flawed characters in Edward’s life, who come alongside and do their part to help by just being there, day after day, year after year.
I highly recommend this book.
